Mettmann, 23rd November 2017 – Martin Kaymer will start the 2018 season as a full-time member on both the PGA TOUR and European Tour.
After sitting past two seasons out as a PGA TOUR member, the 2014 U.S. Open champion will continue as a member in 2018 under his multi-year exemption. Kaymer will spend the off-season in Florida in order to prepare for the new season under best possible conditions.
Martin Kaymer will return to action in Abu Dhabi for the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship from 18th to 21st January 2018, his first event of the new 2018 season. He was able to win this event three times in 2008, 2010 and 2011. The remainder of the 2018 schedule is still in planning and will be published on his official website soon. As a two-time major champion Martin Kaymer is exempt for all major championships until the end of 2019.
„I am very much looking forward to spending my off-seasons in Florida moving forward. I feel this will prepare me best, especially for the start of the season. My intention is to focus on the PGA TOUR events leading up to the Masters in April. Florida is an ideal training base. It is fantastic to be able to sleep in my own bed in between events. Playing on both tours remains an intense challenge – I am ready and excited to accept it” says Martin Kaymer.
